Responsibilities






Essential Functions:

  • Develop and drive detailed work plans with key dates, deliverables, and action steps enabling timely review and updating of pitch and proposal content
  • Develop a content audit schedule for pitch and proposal content across the Business Development & Marketing Department and ensure that content remains on schedule
  • Work with business development colleagues to build out market-leading content that helps to drive the firm’s business goals
  • Hold meetings with product and industry groups, Proposal Center, and other business development colleagues to set out key deliverables
  • Outline content direction and arrive at messaging and win themes
  • Enforce editorial standards by referencing global messaging guide and ensure consistent messaging
  • Work with content owners to remove outdated content and identify where gaps in content exist
  • Develop a process where content owners notify this position of new bespoke content that needs to be collected and added to the content library
  • Work with content owners to create regionally-focused pieces of content as needed
  • Review website text to see where content can be leveraged
  • Work with other firm departments to update their relevant content including Diversity, Innovation, Pro Bono, Information Security, and other departments
  • Be a key proponent of best practices in messaging, writing, style, and grammar
  • Maintain content library in the proposal generation tool to revise and add new content and ensure content is properly categorized and tagged
  • Ensure audit trail of updates is properly recorded
  • Provide training on the content library in the proposal generation tool
  • Develop an understanding of content areas and serve as a resource for business development colleagues and proposal center team members

 









Qualifications






Education/Training/Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Marketing, English or a communication field

Professional Experience:

  • At least 4 years of work experience in marketing, writing and project/production management in the professional services arena (e.g., law, accounting, or consulting) or in a comparable position in the corporate, trade association or academic sectors
  • Law firm and pitch/proposal experience a plus

Technical Skills: 

  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills; attention to detail
  • Strong project management capabilities; ability to work effectively under deadlines
  • Experience with proposal generation system and/or desktop publishing a plus

  • Excellent interpersonal skills – must have a mature, professional and personable presentation and demeanor
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Demonstrates good judgment and problem-solving capabilities, a team-first and client-service orientation, and stamina

  • Ability to work in an environment with shifting priorities and deadlines and ability to work well under pressure
  • Ability to work well in a team as well as independently
  • Flexibility to work additional hours as necessary
  • Must be a self-starter with a high level of initiative
  • Strong customer service skills, able to anticipate needs and exercise independent judgment and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Maintains confidentiality and exercises discretion

 

Physical Requirements:

  • May require occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs
