Receptionist Details:



Put your excellent customer service skills to work at Snell & Wilmer, one of the largest and most prestigious law firms in the Western United States.  We currently have an opening for a Receptionist role in our Portland office


If you enjoy working in a friendly, fast-paced environment, with the ability to handle day-to-day work challenges while adjusting to multiple demands and priorities, then this may be your next opportunity!  


The hours for this position are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the office.


Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:



  • Answer a multiple line phone system promptly and courteously, manage calls by routing them to the proper extensions across multiple office locations

  • Supports continuity among work team by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs

  • Assist visitors and announce their arrival by immediately notifying appropriate personnel

  • Escort or direct visitors and clients to conference rooms as appropriate

  • Interacts with visitors in a polite, friendly and professional manner

  • Monitor visitors and vendors for security purposes and understand security procedures

  • Maintain conference rooms and administration calendars

  • Assist Attorneys with various tasks, i.e. outside reservations and scheduling couriers 

  • Deal professionally with both internal and external clients on all levels

  • Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate mature behavior and judgment in dealing with delicate situations

  • Handle administrative tasks and duties 

  • Represent the Firm’s professional image by maintaining a neat and organized appearance at the reception desk and surrounding areas

  • Assist in supplies and catering ordering, setup, and clean up as needed 

  • Multitask and prioritize as necessary to meet office needs


 Experience and Qualifications: 



  • At least 2 years of experience in an office professional environment 

  • Essential to have a professional appearance, enthusiastic attitude, and clear and courteous telephone voice

  • Communicate clearly, tactfully, and professionally with all lawyers, other employees and visitors to the office

  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines

  • Ability to work under pressure, respond quickly to changing demands and be self-motivated with ability to work independently as well as part of a team

  • Proactive problem solver with proven ability to provide thoughtful solutions with ease

  • Basic computer skills and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word and Excel)

  • Position may be physical at times and requires walking with a food cart, bending, lifting, and standing and ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds
