Job Overview


Our Research Scholar internship introduces the professional services firm structure and project work at Charles River Associates, with a research-specific project assignment for the summer. During the 10-week program, Research Scholars complete an economic research project that advances a practice area under the guidance of a senior leader and explore an interesting topic related to our business. Along the way, you’ll benefit from professional development and wellness support programs, social events to connect you with peers, and a collegial work environment. Successful Scholars will earn an interview for an Analyst Internship following their junior year.

Desired Skills


We seek motivated Sophomore students with expected graduation dates from December 2026 – August 2027. Strong candidates would possess:



  • Interest in economic research, or demonstrated research experience through coursework or independent study;

  • Curiosity and analytic thinking to bring creative approaches to non-standard problems;

  • Effective written and oral communication skills;

  • Demonstrated high level of initiative and leadership;

  • Strong teamwork orientation and collaboration capabilities;

  • Excellent time management and task prioritization skills;

  • Clear and demonstrated interest in consulting through coursework, work experience, activities, or attendance at CRA recruiting events.

Workplace Location Flexibility

We currently ask that individuals spend 3 to 4 days a week on average working in the office (which may include traveling to another CRA office or to a client's location), with specific days determined in coordination with your practice or team.

The cities of New York/Washington, DC and states of California/Massachusetts require CRA to include a good-faith estimate of the wage range for this role. This range is specific to individuals applying to work in our New York or California offices and considers several factors including but not limited to experience, education level, and expertise. A good-faith estimate of the base wage range for this role is $1,100-$1,100 weekly; actual total compensation may also include other benefits.
