This position may be filled remotely, or in any of our locations. 

The Revenue Cycle Operations Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting the Revenue Teams and the Revenue Cycle Operations Advisors (RCOAs) and assisting with various projects and initiatives across the firm. This position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of client matter data, facilitating effective communication between attorneys and clients, and contributing to the overall efficiency of the revenue cycle processes. The Specialist will collaborate with multiple business units, aid multiple teams within the revenue cycle, and conduct financial reporting. Essential job functions include:

  • Assist RCOAs with ad hoc requests from attorneys.
  • Respond to inquiries from attorneys, clients and other internal departments regarding AR inquiries or requests for invoice information.
  • Conduct payment reconciliations upon request from attorneys or clients; research and resolve payment discrepancies.
  • Assist with processing credit card payments.
  • Monitor AR department email for inquiries from clients relating to AR balance information or requests for invoice copies.
  • Support RCOAs by updating client matter data, ensuring prompt modifications in relevant systems, and proactively responding to evolving attorney and client instructions while escalating issues as needed.
  • Conduct financial reporting for monthly and quarterly updates; gather and vet data to enhance Work in Progress (WIP) hygiene and conduct pre-reviews of monthly proformas.
  • Generate periodic reports for RCOAs and attorneys; compile data for distribution to attorneys and SBU Leadership.
  • Execute monthly rate and proforma reviews for specific clients, including large healthcare clients with insurance delta rates.
  • Review rates for new client matters when timekeepers submit time entries for the first time.
  • Provide budget approval documentation for new matters opened for specific clients.
  • Assist during year-end collections by compiling inventory data, tracking targets, reviewing unallocated balances and completing additional tasks as requested by RCOAs.
  • Perform accruals for clients on a monthly, quarterly or on an as-needed basis. 
  • Assist with bankruptcy filings, inclusive of providing WIP and AR information to attorneys and handle AR write-off requests.
  • Follow up with attorneys on unreleased time entries as needed. 

 

Position Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting or related field preferred or commensurate professional experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in accounting, financial analysis, billing, or a related role, preferably within a law firm environment.
  • Strong analytical, proof-reading and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis in Excel, and other data management tools; experience with Elite 3E a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively in a remote environment.
  • Ability to prioritize workflow and organize diverse tasks.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Employees are entitled to compensation commensurate with skill and experience. The exact compensation will vary based on skills, experience, location, and other factors permitted by law. The expected compensation ranges for this position in various states and jurisdictions are as follows:

  • State of California: $53,000 - $102,000
  • State of Colorado: $49,000 - $88,000
  • State of Illinois: $48,000 - $94,000
  • Jersey City, NJ: $58,000 - $105,000
  • State of Maryland: $52,000 - $78,000
  • State of Massachusetts: $53,000 - $102,000
  • State of Minnesota: $53,000 - $88,000
  • State of New York: $50,000 - $107,000
  • State of Washington: $52,000 - $98,000
  • Washington, D.C.: $69,000 - $101,000

The above salaries do not include a discretionary bonus, however bonus opportunities are non-guaranteed, and are dependent upon individual and firm performance.
