Perdue Brandon Fielder Collins and Mott LLP (PBFCM) has an immediate opening for an Auditor Assistant in our Austin office. PBFCM is looking for a person with experience as an appraisal district, tax office, or comparable employee who understands the property tax system and can read and understand appraisal roll recaps.

Essential Job Functions:



  • Assist in the preparation of school district taxable value audits and protests.

  • Conduct examinations of state and local reported school district property values.

  • Calculate and evaluate reports of numerical data.

  • Prepare statistical reports of researched data.

  • Analyze appraisal district, tax office, and related information for use in school district state filings.

  • Create and maintain databases and spreadsheets.



Experience Requirement:





  • Experience reviewing the Comptroller of Public Accounts School District Property Value Study (Preferred)


Education Requirement:




  • Designation as a Class III Appraiser, Registered Professional Appraiser, Registered Tax Assessor, or Registered Tax Collector or related designation (Preferred)


Essential Skills:



  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel.

  • Skilled in reviewing appraisal district and tax office records.

  • High level organizational skills with strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to work on multiple assignments while meeting team deadlines.

  • Ability to work independently, prioritize and accomplish goals.

  • Ability to work occasional overtime, outside of normal business hours, during certain periods of the year.


Preferred Skills:



  • Analytical and critical thinking skills.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Outlook

  • Strong time management skills.

  • Punctuality and dependability.
