What You'll do:

We are looking for a results-driven Senior Account Executive with substantial experience in HR transformation and a strong track record in federal sector sales. This role is ideal for someone who combines expertise in the federal HR landscape with outstanding client relationship management skills and the ability to drive account growth. As a Senior Account Executive, you will lead HR transformation initiatives that align with agency objectives, nurturing client relationships and identifying growth opportunities within a defined set of federal clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to federal clients, offering strategic insights tailored to each agency’s mission and goals.

  • Qualify, pursue, and close high-stakes opportunities, managing the full sales cycle from lead generation to deal closure.

  • Collaborate with the Workday sales team and our Workday Practice Team to execute a successful go-to-market strategy.

  • Drive account growth by identifying and expanding client relationships, developing new business, and responding to RFIs and proposals.

  • Lead HR transformation projects involving process redesign, technology adoption, workforce planning, and compliance with federal policies.

  • Cultivate and expand relationships with key decision-makers within government agencies, including the National Security, Intelligence Community, and Department of Defense.

  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of federal HR policies, Workday’s market position, emerging trends, and regulatory requirements.

  • Develop and present proposals and statements of work (SOW) that showcase the value of our solutions in federal HR operations.

  • Participate in conferences and industry events, representing Groundswell to enhance brand presence in the federal HR transformation space.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, or related field preferred
  • Over 10 years of experience in HR transformation and sales leadership within the federal sector.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales goals, consistently generating over $25 million in annual new services sales or over $2 million in new software sales.
  • Comprehensive understanding of federal HR policies, systems (e.g., HRIS, workforce analytics), and process redesign.
  • Demonstrated success collaborating with cross-functional teams and managing end-to-end delivery of HR solutions.
  • Preferred familiarity with Workday (certification a plus) and experience in delivering Human Capital Modernization (HCM) projects.
  • Exceptional communication skills both verbal and written
  • Preferred experience in the National Security, Intelligence Community, or Department of Defense sectors.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain federal government security clearance (Top Secret clearance highly desired)
  • Must be local to the DC Metro area
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% and be on-site at Groundwell office at least three days a week.

The salary range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Groundswell, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
