What does a Sr. Human Resources Generalist do?


As a Sr. Human Resources Generalist, you will play a crucial role in leading the building of the HR function in our growing firm. The Senior Human Resources Generalist performs cross-functional Human Resources assignments such as Employee Relations, Training and Development, HRIS, FMLA/Benefits Administration, Accommodations, Policy Administration, and Recruitment, provides assistance with data analysis, employee policies and special projects.


Job Description



  • Participates in the recruitment and on-boarding process of professional staff employees, including collaborating with hiring managers to develop diverse recruitment strategies, utilizing various sources to market and advertise position vacancies; screening resumes, conducting interviews, and referring qualified applicants to the appropriate teams.

  • Interpret and explain human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, or regulations on a daily basis to assist managers and employees. Assist in the writing and creating of policies and handbooks.

  • Develop an efficient onboarding and offboarding process.

  • Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of services performed.

  • Partner with our internal teams for payroll processing, employee benefits programs, and national HR programs to ensure proper communication.

  • Assist with employee relations counseling, mediation, and investigations as well as handle employee grievances under the direction of Senior Management.

  • Maintain advanced knowledge of HR Systems (Paylocity).

  • Administers FMLA/CFRA, including meeting with employees, maintaining files, tracking leave related to intermittent FMLA/CFRA, unpaid leave and disability leave, and coordinating FMLA/CFRA recertification.

  • Facilitates the accommodation process in accordance with the ADA/FEHA.

  • Participates in the training and development provided to staff, including meeting with facilitators, customizing training content, auditing classes, and collecting feedback as needed.

  • Assists with policy administration, including creating, updating, and interpreting policies for Professional Staff.

  • Participates in the staff annual performance review process.

  • Conducts market research and performs internal and external pay analyses.

  • Facilitates the employee departure process, processes HRIS data entry and conducts exit interviews.

  • Provides general HR support and guidance to other offices as needed.

  • Seeks to enhance knowledge of Human Resources procedures and processes.

  • Demonstrates professional and effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills to facilitate effective work relationships with others.


Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree, minimum of 5+ years of HR experience with demonstrated ability to exercise appropriate judgment, or any similar combination of education and experience

  • Ability to analyze, prioritize, delegate

  • Demonstrates leadership, ability to hire and retain high achievers

  • Strong interpersonal skills and problem solving ability

  • Strong verbal/written communication and presentation skills

  • Proven record of excellent internal and external customer service

  • The qualified candidate will be detail oriented, able to handle multiple projects simultaneously, extremely professional, and customer service oriented
