The Brattle Group, a privately held, global economics consulting firm, is looking for a Senior Manager of Administrative and Facilities Services to join the Business Support Services (BSS) team in our Chicago, IL or Washington, DC office. The Senior Manager of Administrative and Facilities Services is a dual role responsible for ensuring a highly skilled and high-performing administrative support team and managing facility operations for assigned office locations. This role supervises the daily support operations for their designated Management Group, plans efficient administrative procedures, and provides facilities oversight for assigned offices. The position reports to the Director of Administration and Facilities and works closely with local Office Directors and other Senior Managers of Administrative and Facilities Services.

 

Some of the day-to-day responsibilities of this role include:

  • Directly lead, manage, coach, and develop the Administrative team members for the relevant Management Group(s) and Facilities team members for assigned locations
  • Determine the appropriate staffing for teams and individual Principals
  • Oversee the annual performance review process for the team; ensuring that all team members have annual goals that are challenging, motivating, and move the individual forward in their development, and the team forward in its effectiveness
  • Assess the training needs of team members and organize/give training as required. Work with the Learning & Development team and Human Resources to ensure more complex developmental needs are met
  • Regularly engage with the Management Group Lead and Corporate Operations team to align the Administrative and Facilities team objectives with business needs
  • Work with on-site teams to ensure assigned offices are maintained to Brattle standards:
    • Liaise with assigned office building management to ensure repair and maintenance issues are addressed, safety and security procedures are defined and communicated to the assigned office, and any other building-related concerns are managed
    • Oversee seating and hoteling plans for assigned offices
  • Support and help to manage office/facilities related projects, e.g. office moves, construction or remodeling, space reconfigurations, furniture, or fixture updates
  • Work with the Office Directors in designated locations to establish and manage/update local budgets

 

THE CANDIDATE

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred; will consider experience in lieu of degree
  • Requires seven (7) to nine (9) years of related experience with at least five (5) years in administrative management (including staffing, hiring and development); experience in a professional services or similar environment highly desired
  • Experience working with remote locations and managing dispersed teams
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to direct multiple projects and scopes simultaneously
  • Strong track record of building and motivating teams; ability to manage and motivate a team with different levels of experience
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Strong planning, budgeting, and project management skills required
  • Excellent analytical/quantitative skills with a high degree of creativity
  • A strong operational orientation and past record of dealing effectively with key operating areas
  • Evening/weekend work may be required (with notice)
  • Occasional travel to assigned offices required
  • Occasional domestic and international travel as needed (approximately 20%)

 

Brattle offers a competitive benefits package, base salary, and bonus program for eligible roles based on individual and firm performance. The anticipated base gross salary range for this position in Washington, DC is $115,000 - $135,000 annually.  Actual salary will depend on a variety of factors, including experience and training.
