SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Paralegal to provide assistance to attorneys in fact investigation, legal research, document preparation and production, database management, docketing/case management, and overall client service.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Manage large dockets of property tax assessment matters, including responsibility for docketing deadlines, preparation and service of refund claims, initial preparation of Complaints, Answers, subpoena responses, witness lists, discovery pleadings and review of documents.
- Prepare property tax exemption applications and reports, including ability to synthesize and manage large volumes of documents and exhibits for application.
- Review and prepare leases, income/expenses statements, real estate contracts, title commitments, and offers; assist in real estate closings.
- Conduct legal research and online research related to real estate.
- Provide litigation support to team of attorneys.
- Use good judgment and sustain attention to detail and quality of work.

POSITION-SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:
- Two-year degree required. Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certificate from ABA approved program preferred; significant, substantive related experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
- A minimum of two years of related experience required.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Proven success working in a fast-paced, continually changing environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with document database programs and/or software.
