About the Role






The Senior Specialist – Sponsorships is an integral part of Latham’s Sponsorships team. This role will be responsible for coordinating and project managing a high volume of conference and trade organization sponsorships, while working with key stakeholders to define objectives and thoughtfully map out sponsorship participation accordingly. This role will be located in either our New York, Washington, D.C., or Houston offices. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.









Responsibilities & Qualifications






Other key responsibilities include:

 

  • Proactively leading the entire lifecycle of sponsorships and the firm’s participation, including vetting the opportunity, negotiating benefits packages, submitting deliverables, leading planning meetings, outlining checklists, budget tracking, expense processing, vendor management, data management, and post-sponsorship analysis
  • Evaluating sponsorship opportunities, collaborating with Business Development colleagues to provide an assessment, and advising on next steps
  • Negotiating and identifying favorable terms to achieve cost savings with vendors
  • Attending key sponsorships to evaluate business development opportunities and/or managing setup
  • Attending Events & Sponsorships and Business Development department meetings and specified practice or industry group meetings to gain a working knowledge of subject matter basics
  • Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains

  • Demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills
  • Display well-developed and professional interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact and communicate effectively with clients and staff at all organizational levels of the firm
  • Exhibit the ability to work in a team environment with a customer-service focus

 

And have:

 

  • A bachelor's degree
  • Events or sponsorship management qualifications, preferably
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in events, partnership or sponsorship management, conference organization, business development, or marketing in a professional services environment
