What You Will Do: 
The SQL Server Database Developer / Application Analyst is responsible for creating insightful reports, developing and maintaining our database systems, and analyzing applications to ensure optimal performance and functionality under the guidance of senior engineers. 

This position will sit in our Roseland, NJ office and currently offers a hybrid work opportunity.

Essential Job Requirements:

Database Development

  • Write and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers.
  • Develop and maintain SSRS reports and alerts.
  • Develop and maintain inbound and outbound data feeds between external third-party cloud platforms and within internal firmwide applications.
  • Create and manage Power BI reports and dashboards.
  • Keep current on latest database development trends.

Database Administration:

  • Develop, maintain and upgrade SQL Server databases.
  • Implement and maintain high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) strategies such as SQL Server Clustering or Always On Availability Groups.
  • Perform regular database maintenance tasks such as backups, indexing, and performance tuning.
  • Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues.
  • Ensure data integrity and security across all database systems.

Application Analysis:

  • Work with development team to integrate database solutions with applications.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for application-related issues.
  • Technical resource on financial application configuration, enhancements and upgrades in conjunction with third party vendors.
  • Analyze and optimize application performance.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in database development and administration.
  • Proficiency in SQL Server, including T-SQL, SSRS, SSIS, and SSAS
  • Experience with Power BI development and data visualization preferred.
  • Experience with data warehousing and ETL processes.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., Azure SQL Database).
  • Knowledge or experience with PowerShell, Power Automate, Power Apps and low code platforms. 
  • Knowledge or experience with Web Services, REST, APIs, XML, JSON a plus.
  • Law firm application experience including Aderant and Intapp a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Office Location: Roseland, New Jersey
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday (9:00 am – 5:00 pm EST)
