Summary






This staff accountant position reports to the Accounting Supervisor and supports other department staff. 









Duties and Responsibilities






  • Integral part of a team that produces financial reporting for the firm. Responsible for producing reports quickly while maintaining integrity and accuracy of data
  • Develop and maintain Excel spreadsheets to prepare analyses and reports using advanced Excel functions
  • Review and analysis of general ledger transactions and accounts, using technical judgment to ensure that financial transactions are properly recorded
  • Participate in the firm-wide annual forecasting/budgeting process;
  • Perform monthly account review and variance analysis
  • Act as a financial liaison to multiple departments by understanding and servicing their business needs
  • Responsible for the analysis, management and implementation of financial initiatives
  • Identify opportunities for improvement, and provide information and recommendations to management
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize appropriately to meet a variety of demands
  • Flexibility to complete special projects
  • Communicate effectively with other departments and outside parties
  • Develop a strong understanding of Firm operations and the law firm industry

Education and/or Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

Preferred:

  • Financial reporting experience
  • CPA or candidate for CPA certification
