JOB SUMMARY
As a Staff Accountant, you’ll bring a strong foundation in financial accounting, paired with hands-on operational experience, to play a pivotal role in advancing our financial operations. Your contributions—from maintaining meticulous records to navigating month-end close processes and producing key reconciliations—will directly support our company’s growth and success.
This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, proactive professional excited to make a meaningful impact in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You will work closely with our Financial Accounting Manager and partner with a dedicated external accounting team to ensure our financial processes are seamless and our business thrives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • General Ledger Management: Assist in maintaining the general ledger, including preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
    • Month-End Close: Support the month-end close process to ensure accurate, timely submission of financial data.
    • Account Reconciliations: Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, including those for bank accounts, credit cards, and intercompany transactions.
    • Accounts Payable & Receivable: Manage and support AP/AR processes, ensuring accurate recording and timely payments, including vendor setup and billing communications.
    • Financial Reporting: Contribute to the preparation of internal and external financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
    • Tax & Compliance Support: Assist in preparing various tax filings, such as sales tax and property tax, and support regulatory compliance requirements.
    • Internal Controls: Help implement and monitor internal controls to ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting.
    • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements within the accounting function and collaborate with the Finance team to implement changes for greater efficiency and accuracy.
    • Business Intelligence & Financial Reporting: Partner with the Commercial and eCommerce teams to integrate financial reporting into Business Intelligence tools and dashboards.

QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
    • Minimum 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in Media, eCommerce, or related industries, either brand-side or within a financial services firm.
    • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and reconciliations.
    • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills.
    • Exceptional attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
    • Self-motivated, highly organized, and able to meet deadlines efficiently.

$70,000 - $80,000 a year
Currently, the position is hybrid, with Tuesday and Thursday in Hudson Yards. In March 2025, the role may transition to M, W, F in LIC (Long Island City).
