About the Job:

Relman & Colfax PLLC hires two to four summer associates each year to work in the firm’s Washington, DC office. We are seeking applications for summer associate positions for Summer 2025. Summer associates work on a variety of assignments for the firm’s civil rights litigation and counseling practices, including legal research and writing, preparing attorneys for depositions and hearings, and assisting with investigations and case development.

Candidates are expected to demonstrate a commitment to civil rights, strong academic credentials, and an interest in litigation. Rising 3Ls are preferred.  

We expect that hiring will be completed by December 2024. Applications are considered on a rolling basis, and positions for summer associates may be filled before that time. 

Candidates interested in the position should send a cover letter, resume, transcript, list of three references, and writing sample (no longer than 10 pages).

The program is 10 weeks long and the salary is $1,000 per week. Per DC law, the Firm discloses that this position does not include health benefits. 

About the Firm:

Relman Colfax PLLC is a national civil rights law firm, with a litigation practice focused on combating discrimination and obtaining equity, including in the areas of housing, lending, employment, public accommodations, education, and police accountability. Our practice includes individual and class action lawsuits on behalf of plaintiffs who have experienced discrimination and harassment on the basis of race, national origin, color, religion, sex (including sexual orientation and gender identity), disability, age, familial status, and source of income.

Our practice also includes analysis and strategy regarding public policy issues and proposed legislation affecting civil rights.
