Summary






This position is responsible for working with the Senior Tax Manager and Tax Director to manage the tax affairs of the Firm and the partners worldwide.









Duties and Responsibilities






  • Review and manage the tax compliance requirements for international tax return preparation and filings
  • Research domestic and international tax reporting matters using IRS Tax Code, Tax Treaties, and other authoritative literature
  • Manage the tax withholding and payment process for partners in all jurisdictions where the partner is not resident or tax domiciled
  • Coordinate the tax aspect of the Firm’s expatriate assignments by working with various internal departments and external tax advisors, issuing estimated tax payments, assisting in administering shadow payrolls and compensation reporting, and processing tax equalization settlements
  • Support the payroll function with foreign and U.S. payroll compliance matters
  • Support the overseas offices with indirect (VAT/GST) compliance matters
  • Respond to tax authority requests, supervise tax audits, and interact with relevant tax authorities, as appropriate
  • Prepare clear, concise information to document and communicate tax issues
  • Communicate with partners and tax advisors regarding the partners’ tax obligations
  • Oversee the staff and their personal development
  • Create, plan, and prepare spreadsheet-based analyses and reports; candidate must be able to design meaningful and useful spreadsheets used in business analysis and management;
  • Other general accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and special project responsibilities, as assigned;
  • Provide general administrative assistance as needed

Education and/or Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited and approved college or university
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in a structured tax department (public or corporate)
  • Proficient knowledge of business applications such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Customer service oriented with excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated technical and analytical skills within his/her professional background

Preferred:

  • CPA designation
  • Background in partnership and/or international tax a plus
