Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Quality and Test Automation Lead Engineer to oversee the implementation of our test strategy and champion our automation-first approach. In this role, you will promote best practices in automation and quality, ensuring teams adhere to established testing standards, including integration, regression and end-to-end testing. You will lead quality review processes, evaluate the effectiveness of automated testing solutions, and recommend improvements to enhance overall quality.

Key responsibilities include tracking and reporting key quality metrics, mentoring QA engineers, coordinating release schedules, and ensuring compliance with security, performance, and testing standards. You will work with tools like JIRA and Playwright to manage defects and provide comprehensive reports on test coverage, automation efficiency, and defect density. This role focuses on strategic oversight, team collaboration, and driving adherence to quality and automation standards throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and promote best practices for automation and quality, collaborating with teams to ensure compliance and implementation.
• Lead quality review sessions and ensure adherence to agreed-upon test plans and standards.
• Monitor and assess the effectiveness of automated testing solutions and recommend improvements.
• Establish and maintain key quality metrics and reporting tools to track product performance and testing effectiveness.
• Ensure the adoption of industry-standard quality practices across teams, such as unit testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testing.
• Act as a mentor and advisor to QA engineers, ensuring they are aligned with automation goals and quality objectives and meet the quality gates.
• Coordinate with stakeholders on release schedules, quality gates, and automation readiness for deployment.
• Ensure compliance with security and performance standards as part of the testing process.
• Ensure timely logging, tracking, and resolution of defects using tools like JIRA
• Provide detailed metrics and reports on test coverage, automation efficiency, and defect density.

Required Qualifications:

• Proven experience overseeing quality assurance and test automation in a software development environment.
• In-depth knowledge of software testing methodologies, tools, and best practices.
• Strong understanding of automated testing tools (e.g., Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, JUnit, TestNG, etc.) and their integration within CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD).
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical teams.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on improving quality and efficiency through automation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience managing or leading QA or test automation teams, with a focus on strategy and oversight.
• 3–5 years of hands-on experience working with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and conducting testing in distributed systems environments.
• 3-5 years of experience defining, implementing, and analyzing quality metrics and creating actionable reports to guide improvements.
• 5+ years of experience mentoring and developing QA engineers, focusing on automation strategies and achieving quality objectives.
