Summary






The Technology Asset Administrator is responsible for the monitoring and tracking of IT assets through their entire lifecycle, as well as the coordination of Sidley’s established procedures for each phase of that lifecycle.









Duties and Responsibilities






  • Coordinate the acquisition and tracking of computer, monitor, scanner, and peripheral inventory using the Asset Management system for all end-users including new hires, visiting lawyers and staff, terminated employees, system upgrades, etc.
  • In conjunction with the Procurement department, arrange technology equipment orders for the US offices from approval through fulfillment.
  • Oversee the usage of mobile devices and phone numbers in all US offices. Run activity reports to identify active lines that should be canceled, seek necessary client/matter numbers from end-users for overages, and manage upgrades and replacements, etc.
  • Administer portal websites provided by mobile carriers including system access and the review and verification of invoices for mobile devices and phone lines.
  • Participate in a monthly physical inventory of computers in the local office as well as various quarterly, semi-annual, and annual inventories of other assets.
  • Utilize usage and access reports to participate in the search and retrieval of missing computers.
  • Provide equipment to end-users indirectly through the IT request process and occasionally directly through walk-up requests and phone calls.
  • Coordinate deliveries with vendors and the Sidley building dock supervisor.
  • Manage the inventory levels of peripheral equipment and loaner devices. Order replacement stock when needed.
  • Manage the salvage and donation processes for equipment and ensure its removal and disposal meets Sidley’s standards.

Education and/or Experience: 

  • A minimum of two years of experience in a role with asset tracking and customer service responsibilities
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Strong written communication skills, able to document processes and procedures
  • Experience with windows compatible personal computers, and Microsoft Windows XP
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Citrix and legal specific applications
  • Knowledge of Help Desk operations and methodologies

Preferred:

  • Prior law firm experience
