Unified Communications Engineer

The Unified Communications Engineer is an integral part of Latham’s Technology & Information Services team and will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the firm's cloud-based voice services, with a particular emphasis on Microsoft Teams and Cisco Webex platforms, while identifying, researching, evaluating, presenting, and testing new or upgraded communication technologies. This role will be located in our Global Services Office in downtown Los Angeles. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.

Other key responsibilities include:

• Implementing, configuring, managing, and maintaining unified communications systems and components, including servers, telephones, software, security, reporting, and networking equipment
• Monitoring and evaluating systems and related components for operational efficiency
• Identifying and troubleshooting system problems, providing support in the resolution of problems, and escalating problems as necessary
• Participating in projects and performing other tasks as needed to support firm goals and objectives, as directed by the Supervisor of Systems Integration and Telephony
• Maintaining positive and productive relationships with the firm’s current and potential vendors, as necessary
• Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains

We’d love to hear from you if you:

• Demonstrate expert knowledge of cloud-based telephony systems, including Microsoft Teams
• Possess in-depth knowledge of TCP, UDP, and SIP protocols
• Exhibit in-depth knowledge of cloud services, VoIP, SBC, and related technologies

And have:

• A high school diploma or an equivalent
• A Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent in Applied Computer Science or Information Systems, preferably
• A minimum of five (5) years of unified communications and network experience, including systems design, integration, configuration, and system assurance
