Speaks Law Firm is in search of a Legal Assistant to assist with our Workers Compensation department. This role is a critical part of the Workers Compensation team. In this role, you will be responsible for timely management of office correspondence and ordering medical and billing records for our Workers Compensation department. Responsibilities include, but not limited to: 
  • Preparing opening forms and contacting clients
  • Sorting and disbursing incoming mail and faxes
  • Calendaring important deadlines and scheduling client appointments
  • Requesting medical records and bills
  • Sending collections/bills to carrier letters
  • Setting up and sending letters of representation for subrogation 
  • Requesting and reviewing lien itemizations
  • Preparing medical exhibits for case managers
  • Requesting payment ledgers
  • Updating information and labeling documents in Needles Neos and spreadsheets
  • Other administrative tasks as assigned by case managers/attorney 
Required Qualifications:
  • Positive demeanor as a team player 
  • Customer service experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Effective time management and attention to detail 
  • Proficient with MS Office products
  • Organizational and communication skills are necessary for this position 
  • Must be able to prioritize tasks with demanding deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment
Desired Qualifications: 
  • An Associate's degree or some college is preferred
  • 1-2 years of prior experience in a workers' compensation law firm or equivalent
Compensation: 
  • Expectation is $15 - $18 hourly
