Overview: We are seeking an experienced Manager of Software Engineering with a strong background in .NET / C#, SQL, and cloud services development to lead our software engineering team in the development of our Software as a Service (SaaS) product offerings. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing software development teams and delivering high-quality cloud-based applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of software engineers in the design, development, testing and deployment of the .NET / C# based SaaS web applications.

  • Drive the architectural decisions and technical strategy for the SaaS products, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and security.

  • Collaborate with product management, UX/UI designers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into actionable development plans.

  • Oversee the full software development lifecycle, including code reviews, testing, and deployment processes.

  • Manage the development lifecycle, planning, prioritization, and execution of projects.

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by introducing new practices to increase the efficiency and quality of the development process.

  • Partner with DevOps in managing cloud infrastructure and resources, ensuring cost-effectiveness and reliability of the SaaS platform.

  • Establish and track key performance metrics to measure performance and product quality.

  • Implement monitoring and alerting tools to proactively identify and address system issues.

  • Ensure the development team implements unit and integration tests to meet organization test coverage goals.

  • Champion Agile methodologies within the development team, ensuring that Agile principles are understood and practiced.

  • Develop and maintain documentation for architecture, processes and procedures.

  • Report on the status of development, including risks, issues, and opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in software development with a strong background in .NET/C#.

  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience with database design, development, and management, including SQL and NoSQL databases.

  • At least 2 years of experience managing an engineering team.

  • Proven experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud) and designing cloud-native solutions.

  • Familiarity with SaaS business models and the challenges of deploying and maintaining SaaS applications.

  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum or Kanban) and DevOps practices.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.

  • Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and grow teams of engineers.

  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with a track record of building positive relationships with stakeholders.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), CI/CD, and DevOps practices.

  • Knowledge of front-end development technologies (e.g., React or Angular).

  • Certifications in cloud platforms or related technologies.

  • Understanding of compliance and security standards.
