At Burr & Forman LLP, we have a foundational commitment to our clients, colleagues, and communities.  The firm is currently hiring for a Recruiting and Professional Development Coordinator in our Birmingham, AL office.  This role will provide administrative and event management support to the firm’s recruiting and professional development department, assisting with tasks involved in recruiting candidates and organizing professional development programs for the firm.  The Coordinator will work closely with the Summer Program Manager, law schools, and the firm’s Recruitment Committee to recruit talented law students for the firm’s summer law clerk program.  During the summer, the Coordinator will be an active leader in executing collaborative events between the firm’s lawyers and law students, managing events from initial discussion to execution.

KEY CONTRIBUTIONS

  • Collaborate with law schools to participate in on-campus interviewing and other recruiting programs
  • Develop and attend the firm’s summer program events; manage events from initial discussion to execution
  • Set interview schedules for law school students and lateral attorney candidates
  • Assist with the logistics involved in recruiting and managing lateral attorney candidates, and in executing the firm’s professional development programs
  • Work closely with the Director of Legal Talent and the Recruiting Manager to maintain data related to recruiting and professional development
  • Perform other duties as assigned

THE ESSENTIALS

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of recruiting experience; experience in a legal or professional services environment preferred
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with varied audiences
  • Ability to work after-hours, particularly during the summer months
  • Some travel required
  • Highly organized, detail-orientated, proactive with a desire to take ownership as a contributing member of the team
  • Balance competing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment, exercising patience and professionalism during stressful situations
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
