Position Summary

The purpose of this position is to provide legal support through conducting research, preparing legal documents, trial preparation, and other administrative duties. 

 

Essential Functions

  • Shadow and assist Attorneys on special projects and areas of greatest need.
  • Conduct research, create legal summaries, and prepare discovery. 
  • Answer basic questions from the clients or pass on legal questions to a firm attorney.
  • Preparing briefs and drafting other documents.
  • Compile physical files and case materials for attorneys.
  • Participates in training and workshops.
  • Attends required meetings. 
  • Performs other job duties and responsibilities as assigned. 


Work Environment

Work Hours:

Part-Time: Student Associates must work at least 15 but not more than 30 hours per week.

Monday – Thursday 8:30am – 5:30pm, Friday, 8:30am – 4:00pm

Mobility: 

Primarily sedentary, able to sit for long periods of time.

Physical Demands:

Ability to speak, see, and hear other personnel. Ability to communicate both in verbal and written form. Capable of using a telephone and computer keyboard. Able to lift up to 10 pounds. Ability to travel within the facility and to other locations as required.

Requirements

Required Education / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required. 
  • Enrolled in or recently graduated from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and writing skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
