Perdue Brandon Fielder Collins and Mott LLP (PBFCM) has an immediate opening for a Title Researcher.

Title Research Clerks determine ownership and lien status for real property in order to assist in the collection of delinquent property taxes. The position also reviews documentation recorded at the County Clerk, abstract and title companies, and other relevant locations, to determine if it affects the subject property. 


Our Title Researcher role has several roles and responsibilities:


  • Must perform detailed research on accounts to determine ownership status, active lien holders, heirs, registered agents, probate or any other information necessary.

  • Must confer with attorneys and/or supervisors for guidance in title research for accounts which do not meet standard protocol.

  • Must provide support to legal assistants and attorneys to facilitate efficient research on accounts.

  • Must be able to utilize computers to navigate multiple websites, collection systems and document storage systems.

  • Must retrieve account information and document activities.

  • Must be able to adapt to dynamic changes in systems and environments.

  • Must be accountable for work quality, attendance, and adherence to work schedules.

  • Must be able to use Perdue Software as well as a number of online resources.

  • Must be able to touch type, have word processing skills, and ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

  • Must have excellent oral communication skills. 

  • Must have excellent written communication skills. Must be able to operate personal vehicle

  • Must have the ability to work with little to no supervision.

  • Must be able to grasp complicated legal concepts. 

  • Must be detail-oriented. 

Qualifications and Education Requirements


  • Previous office experience and/or previous experience as a title researcher is preferred.

  • Previous experience in examining mineral title is a plus.

  • Employee cannot be delinquent in any real or personal property taxes.

  • Must have reliable transportation and current vehicle insurance.

  • High School diploma or equivalent required, some college preferred.
