- Assist attorneys with managing criminal case files, ensuring deadlines are met and documents are organized.
- Draft, proofread, and file legal documents, including motions, correspondence, and pleadings.
- Communicate with clients, courts, and other legal professionals to facilitate case progress.
- Schedule appointments, court dates, and meetings, ensuring calendars are up to date.
- Conduct light research and gather necessary case information as directed.
- Provide general administrative support to maintain efficiency in a fast-paced environment.
- Billing for your time working on files.
- Organized and Detail-Oriented: You thrive on keeping things in order and ensuring accuracy in all tasks.
- Adaptable and Proactive: Self-starter able to pivot quickly between tasks and anticipate what’s needed next.
- Compassionate Communicator: You possess excellent communication skills and can work effectively with people under stress.
- Spanish Speaking.
- Proven experience as a Legal Assistant, preferably in criminal defense or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal software experience with Clio is a plus along with being technically savvy.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases and priorities.
- Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures in criminal law.
- Federal experience is a plus and will set you apart from other candidates.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional legal certifications are a plus.
